This beautiful morning started with celebration at Prescott School District. Members of the Arkansas Department of Education, Arkansas House of Representatives and our community joined us for the Prescott Elementary School Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Model School Flag Presentation. Superintendent Robert Poole welcomed guests and introduced retried Prescott Elementary School Principal Howard Austin, Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development Director Mary Godwin, Arkansas State Representative Danny Watson and Nevada County Judge Mark Glass as well as Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Education Johnny Key, Arkansas Department of Education Special Projects and Policy Director Missy Walley and Solution Tree Arkansas Branch Director Tina Smith. Superintendent Poole congratulated all PES teachers for their hard work it took in order to reach this goal. Secretary Key was excited to see all of our students and teachers. He spoke of the dedication it takes to achieve such status and how he knew when Curley Wolves put their minds to something they can’t be stopped. He along with Mrs. Walley and Ms. Smith presented the PLC Model Flag and certificate to Mrs. Grimes and Mr. Poole. Mrs. Grimes conveyed how proud she was of her staff and their devotion to their students. Mr. Poole closed the ceremony thanking everyone for coming but most importantly telling the students how proud he was of their behavior during the assembly. Students were on their best behavior and very pleased to be at their first assembly in some time.
