There was a packed house tonight at the 1st Annual OYEA banquet. This program would not be possible without the generous support of the community and surrounding areas. Pearl Bailey and Linda Benton, satellite teachers for Ouachita Baptist University TRIO Programs and volunteers Remona Block and RaShalla Young accompanied students from their respective schools of Prescott Junior High and Prescott High School Talent Search group, to Ouachita University on Wednesday evening, October 5, for their annual 2022 Tiger Tunes event.
Before Tiger Tunes, students were guests in “The Commons”, Ouachita’s cafeteria, where they were treated to a variety of gastronomic delights that many had not previously enjoyed.
This year was the 44th Tiger Tunes’s annual event sponsored by the Ouachita Student Foundation (OSF), which is a student-led organization with the mission of “ students helping students.” The money from the four-day event goes toward student scholarships. During the event, several students addressed the audience and stated that getting scholarships from the OSF helped them to continue their education “without having to get additional loans.”
