The Arkansas Governor's Scholastic Honors Day is an annual event held at the Governor's Mansion in Little Rock, recognizing the academic achievements of the state's top students. Each high school (public and private) can nominate two senior students who best represent excellent academic achievement to attend. The event is hosted by the Governor of Arkansas.
Prescott School District was honored to have Lakyn Crayne and Caytlee Poole representing Prescott yesterday, Saturday, May 3, at Arkansas Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day.


April's Word of the Month was "Citizenship." Citizenship means being a good member of a community by following rules, showing respect, and contributing to the well-being of others. The following students demonstrated good citizenship!

Personal Finance class - Everfi Financial Literacy certifications
Congratulations to all Mrs. Haynie's Personal Finance Spring semester students who passed the Everfi Financial Literacy certification test. This certification is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to make informed and effective decisions with their financial resources. The students were introduced to key concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, understanding credit, and planning for the future.


Superintendent Robert Poole presented Willie Wilson the 2025 Prescott School District Employee of the Year award tonight at the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Banquet. Superintendent Poole spoke highly of Mr. Wilson and his willingness to help when needed. Mr. Wilson is a dedicated employee who is a team player. He took on a role this school year asking no questions and tackling it head on. We are thankful for Mr. Wilson and all his hard work and dedication to Mr. Poole and the district! Congratulations, Mr. Wilson!

Congratulations to Curley Wolf Senior Marketric Mixon who signed with Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia to play baseball! We are proud of your hard work and dedication and know you will do great playing at the college level!

5.16 - HONOR GRADUATES Students desiring to graduate with “Honors” must complete the following requirements:
1. Must complete ten (10) of the following courses: Pre-AP English I, II; Chemistry; Physics; Algebra II, III; Calculus; Advanced Math/Trigonometry, Spanish I, II, III; French I, II, III; Multimedia I, II; Computerized Accounting; Anatomy and Physiology; any AP courses or approved concurrent credit courses.
2. “Honor” graduates must satisfy the “Minimum Core Curriculum” as established by the Arkansas Department of Education.
Graduates with "Highest Honors" will have satisfied all of the above requirements for their graduating class who have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 to 4.00 based on a 4.0 grade point scale by the end of the first semester of their graduating year. Graduates with "Honors" will have satisfied all of the above requirements for their graduating class and have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 to 3.89 based on a 4.0 grade point scale by the end of the first semester of their graduating year.
Regular graduates will be the remaining students. Ranking will be based only on their GPA with no special consideration given to honor courses or course difficulty (including those students with fewer than ten honor credits). Class rank for these students will not be publicly announced but will be recorded on each graduate’s permanent record and available only to him/her or the authorized person receiving the transcript.
“Highest Honor” and “Honor” graduates will be recognized for their accomplishments. They will receive medallions at the commencement program.
Transfer students to qualify for “Honors” recognition shall meet the following:
1. Entering sophomores must meet our entire policy.
2. Transcripts will be evaluated against the Prescott School District Honors Policy – only classes recognized in this policy wil l be credited. 3. Advanced Placement (AP) classes as labeled by the College Board shall be the exception.
