The 2021-22 school year is fast approaching!! Prescott School District is pleased to announce that we will once again be providing all Prescott students with school supplies to start the school year. All students enrolled in the Prescott School District will also be provided with two meals, breakfast and lunch, at no charge. Students will also ride the bus at no charge. Remember to follow us here on Facebook as well as our other social media pages on Instagram and Twitter and download our Prescott School District app. where we do our best to keep you informed. The Curley Wolves were represented well at the 2020-2021 All Arkansas Preps Banquet in Little Rock at the State House Convention Center. Brian Glass was honored and named Track Coach of the Year and the 2020-2021 Arkansas Coach of the Year. Carston Poole was recognized as being named to the 2020-2021 Underclassmen Football Team. Both chosen out of all coaches and players in Arkansas! Proud of our Prescott Curley Wolves!!!

Congratulations to our Curley Wolves Head Track Boys Track and Football Coach Brian Glass! Coach Glass was named Boys Track Coach of the Year last night at the 2020-2021 All Arkansas Preps Banquet but also to his surprise, he was honored to be named Arkansas Coach of the Year!!

ACT INFORMATION! Students taking the ACT this Saturday at PHS need to be sure they have their ticket, ID, pencils, and a calculator. The test will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. so you will need to be there early to get checked in.

PHS STUDENTS & PARENTS!! Report cards were mailed so please be watching for them. Some have a letter stating that your child still has items checked out and those items will have to be returned/or paid for before getting your child's report card. Some have information about credit recovery enclosed that your child can begin immediately. Instructions and login information are included with your report card if you need credit recovery.

Prescott School District is proud to announce that our Superintendent Robert Poole was recently elected to the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) Board of Directors. Mr. Poole will represent our district well!

Congratulations to Jayce Crayne! Each year Mr. Bob Cockman presents a Prescott High School top achieving senior with a watch of their choice. We appreciate Mr. Cockman’s dedication to our school district. Jayce plans to major in Atmospheric Science at the University of Louisiana Monroe.

PJHS Character Education Classroom Visit Superintendent Robert Poole took time out of his busy schedule to visit my Character Education class last week. He, like many former students and other members of the Prescott community, have visited my classes as speakers to discuss their personal experiences as students and as employees in the workplace. During visits they encourage students to pursue a good education and to start planning for their future careers. Superintendent Poole, who attended K-12th grades in Prescott, shared that he never thought that coming from humble beginnings that he would have the opportunity to be superintendent of a school district. He said that he grew up in a home where both his parents worked hard to give their children the necessities of life but were unable to provide a lavish lifestyle. However, his parents enriched their children with several character-building suggestions, including respecting others, working hard, and taking initiative in pursuing success in life. He and his twin brother were the first to attend college and they took advantage of their opportunities to work toward careers that are rewarding and challenging. Superintendent Poole shared how he was a “walk-on” in football at Ouachita Baptist University but used the experience as motivation to work hard to gain a scholarship. He said he continued to use failure as motivation when he did not get jobs he applied for since the failure made him ready for the next opportunity that knocked at his door. In encouraging students to aim for perfection he used one of Coach Vince Lombardi’s quotes, “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence”. After his presentation students were able to ask questions about Superintendent Poole’s life journey, his expectations for his children, his duties as a superintendent, and the current construction of a new elementary school. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will host 250 students (from 35 schools) and a host of coaches from across south Arkansas and east Texas to participate in the 2021 FCA All Star Showdown. Games will be Texas vs Arkansas and will take place in June in Texarkana. Summer meals AT NO CHARGE!! Meals can be picked up every Wednesday, June 2 - June 22 at 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Each bag will contain 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches for the week. Any child 18 and under may receive these meals at no charge. Parents/guardians can pick up meals for their kids. If you have any questions, please call Nancy Kenworthy at 887-7607. This was the last Friday to pick up meals as we are preparing to get ready for summer meals.
