Last school year PHS created an incentive program to encourage students to apply themselves to the best of their abilities while taking the ACT Aspire test this past spring. We also wanted them to take the test more seriously. Students improving their score at least five points in any of the four academic categories received $10 per category. They had the opportunity to earn up to $50 if they improved on all four categories or were exceeding in all four categories. Students received their incentive money today from Coach Poole. #impactthepack

ALL STAR spellers at PJHS!! 😎🐺

One of the many goals we have at PSD is to instill good character in our students. Prescott Elementary has a Character Word of the Month each month. Students are taught the meanings of these words, such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, during the month. Students have the opportunity each month to earn a gold coin to spend on a book from the new reading vending machine by displaying these traits.
Students may also earn gold coins by being a superstar in the cafeteria during lunch. They must follow cafeteria rules. All students recognized as being superstars will have their name put into a box. Names will be drawn to receive the gold coins.

What!?! A new reading vending machine!! Why yes, yes it is!!! 👏🎉🙌 Such a fun and exciting ribbon cutting for students and adults at PES!
Students in grades K-4 will have the opportunity to earn a gold coin that will allow them to buy a book from the vending machine. Each month Prescott Elementary has a Character Word of the Month. Students that show the characteristics of that word will be chosen by their teacher to receive a gold coin that will get them a book from this vending machine.
This month’s word was trustworthiness. The first group of students received their coin today for being trustworthy.
We are proud of these students for displaying good character.
