Nevada County Extension Agent Katelynn Kirkham presented the "Get Real - Here's The Deal" program to PACE students at Prescott High School. The program gives real life scenarios about budgeting, daily living costs and bill paying. Students were taught how to write checks, balance a checkbook, calculate net income, choose purchases that fit within their income level, etc. Ms. Kirkham gave each student a checkbook and they had to write checks to pay their "bills" and make "purchases", then keep the checking account balanced.
Coach Rook is doing wonderful with things with this program. He is giving students real life scenarios and experiences to prepare them for the real world.

Students have explored welding, an electrician, changing oil on a car, and more! They get a virtual experience to decide if these careers are what they want to do in postsecondary paths. #impactthepack

RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Today our district hosted the county spelling bee for grades fourth through eighth. When we got down to the last few students two of the older boys, Owen Glass and Rhett Cornish, were in a spell off for runner up against a fourth grader. He was excited to be in the running with them and when he misspelled his word he was a little upset. Owen and Rhett both gave him a fist bump and told him good job which put a big smile on his face. That small gesture made a big difference!
