PHS School Picture Day information from Mrs. Wiley: Picture day for high school will be September 14 (9-11) in the high school auditorium. There will NOT be a make-up day. Social distancing and safety precautions will be adhered to. PHS schedules (grades 9-12) can be picked up tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the car line between the elementary school carport and jr high building. If you have been contacted and are attending the virtual meeting for your virtual student on Wednesday and Thursday night, you may pick their schedule then.

Caytlee Poole and Rocco Loe were recognized and presented a check by Mrs. Rucker from the Daughters of the American Revolution tonight at the Prescott school board meeting for being state winners in the DAR essay contest. Caytlee’s essay was also a regional winner being judged against approximately 900 other essays in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. A committee was scheduled to meet in April to determine who advanced after winning regional but were unable to do so because of the pandemic. This is the first time in school history for a Prescott essay to advance to the regional level. Congratulations to both Rocco and Caytlee on these accomplishments! We are very proud of them both! #impactthepack

Curley Wolves will scrimmage Ashdown on Tuesday, August 18 @ 7:00 p.m. in Ashdown! Go Wolves!! 🐺🏈

If your child will be taking a scheduled prescription medication at school this year, medication drop off will be Tuesday, August 11th, 8:00am-3:00pm at the elementary school building. When you arrive, call 870-887-2514 and the nurse will meet you outside. Medications must be brought by a legal guardian and cannot be sent by a student. Medications will not be accepted on the first day of school as parents will not be allowed in the buildings due to COVID-19 regulations.

ATTENTION! Any high school students needing to take the Accuplacer. It is being offered on the Hope campus next week. Here is the link where you can sign up for an appointment: https://www2.registerblast.com/uacch/Exam/List. You will just need to choose Accuplacer on the Hope campus.

Congratulations to Derriun Thompson on being selected as the first recipient of the Katlin Lidge Memorial Scholarship. The family of Kaitlin Lidge applauded Derriun’s essay on working hard, having determination, and the will to face adversity and wish him success in his future endeavors.

CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS!! 🏃🏼‍♀️ 🏃🏿 Anyone in grades 7-12 that would like to participate in cross country need to text/call or email Coach Taylor at 501-284-1291 or btaylor@prescottschool.net. The season is quickly approaching and we need to get started as soon as possible. Please send Coach Taylor your name, grade, and work schedule (if you work) when you contact him in order for him to get some practices set up before school starts.

Football media day has been postponed for a later date. As soon a date has been set, we will make students/parents aware.

Football parents!! There will be a mandatory meeting Wednesday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

GIRLS BASKETBALL!! There will be a basketball meeting on Wednesday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m. for any girls in grades 7-12 that are going to play basketball this fall. The 2020-21 school year is fast approaching!! Prescott School District is pleased to announce that we will once again be providing all Prescott students with school supplies to start the school year. All students enrolled in the Prescott School District will also be provided with two meals, breakfast and lunch, at no charge. Students will also ride the bus at no charge. We know this year is like no other but we are excited to offer these opportunities as well as many others to our students! We look forward to serving students, parents and the community each school year! #impactthepack

👀👀IMPORTANT!!👀👀 We are trying to plan for upcoming school year! It is imperative that we know if you are planning to send your child to school or if you are going the virtual route. If you have not already done this, please return your letter or call 887-2514 by TUESDAY, AUGUST 4 to let us know. Planning ahead is one way we can provide the best education for your child and we need your help with this. If you do not contact us with a decision, your child will be enrolled at school for onsite learning.

Attention Prescott parents: Letters were sent out if your child is due for an immunization prior to school resuming in the fall. ALL students starting kindergarten are required to have a current physical exam and up to date immunizations. ALL students turning 11 years of age between 9/1/2019 and 9/1/2020 are required to have a Tdap vaccine. ALL students entering 7th grade are required to have a MCV-4 vaccine. ALL students turning 16 years of age between 9/1/2019 and 9/1/2020 are required to have a MCV-4 booster. ALL students immunizations must be up to date regardless if they are virtual or on campus. These immunizations are required by the state for all students attending public school. If your child has an exemption for any of the required vaccines, you will need to bring a new exemption letter from the state each year by the first day of school. Currently the Nevada County Health Dept is closed for immunizations due to COVID-19, so you will need to make an appointment with your child's pediatrician for their vaccinations. Please bring or send the updated immunization records to the school as soon as possible. They can also be faxed to 870-887-3398.
